Meet The Team

Dr. Mara Mariani, a Buffalo native, now calls Lake Placid her home for advancing dental health and wellness. Dr. Mariani graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor's in Biology, obtained a Master's in Natural Science from SUNY Buffalo, and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from SUNY Buffalo in 2002. She then furthered her education at SUNY Stony Brook's program for Advanced Education in General Dentistry. 

Today, she is known for her skilled, patient-centered approach to dentistry. Fostering an environment where every patient is met with compassion, Dr Mariani believes that individual patient education is the key to building the foundation towards optimal oral health. Passionate about learning, Dr. Mariani spends numerous hours in continuing education, furthering her skills and expanding knowledge as she believes the only way to offer superior care is to stay current with the ever-evolving world of dentistry, technology, and science. She has completed programs with Spear Institute, Dawson Academy, Pankey Institute, and Clinical Mastery Series, to name a few. Aside from dentistry, Dr. Mariani is also certified by the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is currently working with the Co Active Training Institute Coaching and Leadership programs.

Outside the office, you may find Dr. Mariani skiing, hiking, biking, paddling, and camping. Basically, enjoying all the Adirondacks have to offer, often alongside her partner Patrick and their two dogs.

Dr. Kurt W Kline took over the practice of Lake Placid Dental on December 6, 2024. Dr. Kline brings 35 years of experience in both general and advanced implant dentistry. He founded his Implant Dental practice in Plattsburgh, NY, that is equipped to perform each stage of treatment to the highest standards. Performing treatments ranging from single tooth replacements to full-mouth restorations, Dr. Kline combines his keen sense of smile line beauty and engineering. 

 While designing treatment plans for his surgical and prosthetic general practice he incorporates the principles of biomechanics and bioengineering.  Dr. Kline also founded Implanting Mentors, so he could didactically and surgically help other general dentists incorporate implant dentistry into their practices.  Dr. Kline hopes to help bring access to cutting-edge implant dentistry to the Tri-Lakes area.
